R. and her boyfriend (fiancé?) were young American Jews in Israel for the summer. He was studying at a yeshiva and she at a religious women's program. Apparently the turn to religion was recent as the photos i was to paint this double-portrait from were from a highschool party to which he wore a tuxedo and she a spaghetti-strapped prom-dress.
R.'s main concern was that the painting be modest - i.e. that i add long sleeves and raise the neckline to an appropriate level.
